Melanie graduated from the University of New England in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy. Throughout her 24 years of experience, she has worked in many areas of healthcare, including pediatrics, mental health, acute care, neurorehabilitation, and currently outpatient hand therapy. She obtained her Certified Hand Therapist in June of 2023 and her Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist in September of 2000. Her diverse experience allows her to look holistically at each patient when helping them meet their goals

Melanie enjoys the challenges and intricacies of hand therapy and finds great satisfaction in helping people in their recovery process. She enjoys getting to know her patients by learning about how they use their hands, whether it be to play an instrument or perform an occupation. She is able to use her knowledge and experience to propel her patients forward toward their goals. She has over 8 years of experience in treating patients with upper extremity conditions, from arthritis to more complex surgical conditions. She especially enjoys working with patients in neurological conditions and is experienced in specialized orthotics and treatment techniques to enhance recovery.

Outside of work, Melanie enjoys spending time with her family and friends at Sebago Lake or in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She can often be found at the sidelines of her children’s sporting events, cheering them on with her golden retriever, Layla, and husband Bill.
