Jenny is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. She then moved to New York City and completed her studies in Physical Therapy at Columbia University. Jenny was employed by Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center until the middle of 1984 when she moved to Maine and accepted a position at Maine Medical Center.
Schubert Physical Therapy was established in 1989 following Jenny’s desire to provide therapy that addresses the patient as a whole person in a one-on-one setting. She changed her focus to hand and upper extremity therapy in 1991 and once eligible, sat for the specialty exam to become a Certified Hand Therapist.
Jenny’s many years in the general hospital and rehab settings prior to specializing have provided her with a strong background in medicine, wound care, orthopedic and neurological conditions, and trauma. She has been able to integrate her early experience seamlessly into her upper extremity practice and to be able to treat each individual as a whole person. Jenny enjoys an excellent reputation in the Greater Portland area with Orthopedic Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons, Rheumatologists and Family Practice Physicians.
Among her many clinical specialties for the hand and upper extremity, Jenny has a special interest in joint arthroplasties, Rheumatoid Arthritis, CMC arthritis of the thumb, wound/trauma and custom splint fabrication. She is a member of American Physical Therapy Association, American Society of Hand Therapists, and the New England Hand Society.
Jenny lives with her husband and her beloved German Shepherd in South Portland. She enjoys golfing, skiing, cross country skiing, cooking, gardening, snowshoeing, hiking, ……anything outdoors, listening to jazz and playing with Jovi-the-dog.
